Once we have secured the date, it is important to come prepared for the legalities.

Notice of Intended Marriage Form 13 (NOIM) is legally required to be filled out and lodged a minimum of one month before your wedding day. Some circumstances this can be activated and lodged with the signature of one member of the intending Marriage, but, the other party must sign as soon as possible before the wedding date.

The NOIM must be signed in the presence of either, your marriage celebrant, a justice of the peace, solicitor, legally qualified medical practitioner or a member of the Australian police.

Original Birth Certificates (or extracts). If born outside Australia and Birth Certificates are unavailable, then bring your Passport.

Drivers License with photo Identification.

Original Decree Nisi (Original Certificate of Divorce)

Original Death Certificate  If you have been previously married and spouse has died.

Complete a Declaration Form 14 in my presence prior to your wedding, declaring there is no legal impediment to your marriage.

Full Names of the two witnesses who will sign your Marriage Certificate, that they must be over 18 years.

After your Ceremony we sign the Legal Marriage Certificate Form 16, Marriage Register, and the couples Presentation Certificate Form 15.

Your official Registered Marriage Certificate may take several weeks to be processed by the Marriage Section of Birth, Death and Marriage. Basic cost is $46.60, which you can download the form yourself.
